Mick Lawson and his wife Josie attended the local Quit Smoking Clinic after Mick suffered two heart attacks. Mick had been ill for some time, experiencing pain in his chest and he also had some difficulty with breathing. After undergoing tests it was confirmed that he had heart disease and had suffered two heart attacks. The only option was heart surgery to relieve his symptoms and reduce further risks to his health

Rachel Clarke, from Haringey, successfully quit smoking over a year ago with the help of her local Quit Smoking Service. Rachel began smoking at the very young age of 12, and was smoking 15 cigarettes a day when she decided to quit due to worries concerning her health as a smoker.

Tina Panteli, a 35yr old mother from Enfield, decided to quit smoking during her second pregnancy - she had been smoking since the age of 15. As part of her routine anti-natal appointment she was asked whether she smoked and would she be interested in stopping. She felt this could be the ideal opportunity to stop for good.

When Hilary Morris from Enfield came to the Specialist Smokers' Clinic, she was smoking around 20 cigarettes a day and had been smoking for 25 years. She had never tried to stop smoking before, but noticing that it was beginning to affect her health, she decided to call the Enfield & Haringey Quit Smoking Service.

Don Collins started smoking at the age of 18, and was smoking between 50-60 cigarettes a day when he came to the clinic. As a diabetic, he had been advised to give up for serious health reasons. Don saw the advert for the clinic at his G.P. surgery and called the service free phone number to book an appointment with the clinic.
